SZE Signals in Cluster Models

The upcoming generation of SZE surveys will shed fresh light onto the study of clusters. What will this new observational window reveal about cluster properties? What can we learn from combining X-ray, SZE, and optical observations? How do variations in the gas entropy profile, dark matter concentration, accretion pressure, and bound baryon fraction affect SZE observables? We investigate the si...

Ching-Hua Chuan

This paper explores the concepts of metrical consonance and dissonance in a broad and yet articulate way. Krebs first gives a brief review of previously studies. He then extends the definition by Yeston to combine the concepts of levels of motion and musical meter to define metrical consonance and dissonance. Another modification of Yeston’s work is extending the applicable range of dissonance ...

The Hubble Constant from Sze Measurements in Low-redshift Clusters

We present a determination of the Hubble constant from measurements of the Sunyaev-Zeldovich Effect (SZE) in an orientation-unbiased sample of 7 z < 0.1 galaxy clusters. With improved X-ray models and a more accurate 32-GHz calibration, we obtain H0 = 64 +14 −11 ± 14syskmsec Mpc for a standard CDM cosmology, or H0 = 66 +14 −11 ± 15syskm sec Mpc for a flat ΛCDM cosmology. The random uncertainty ...
